Close Embrace Tango Workshop July 14th, 1-4 pm!

This workshop includes 2 - 1 1/4 hr. workshop classes with a tea break in between. This workshop is open to anyone wanting to build skills in close embrace tango. We are a core group from our Tuesday class happily welcoming anyone who would like to join us. We will be focusing on the quality of connection with our partners, the embrace, and developing clear communication between leaders and followers. We plan to work on traditional, navigational figures for the milongas. Liz has been teaching Close Embrace Milonguero Style tango for over 20 years. Fundamentals for Close Embrace Tango

Tuesdays, 7 - 8:30

This class is an on-going, drop-in class open to brand new folks, dancers new to close embrace tango, those wanting to work on the basics and those wanting to learn the opposite role you are used to. We have a great group of students here and are always looking for new folks to join our community. We'll be focusing on the fundamental skills needed for an easy, comfortable dance. We cover the building blocks: Posture, connection, development of movement and basic figures for the dance floor. No partners necessary. Taught by Liz Haight with Emma Simmons assisting.

Two Moon Tango Study Encuentro with Liz Haight, Tuesday-Thursday, August 27-29, 2024

Two Moon Tango Studio is set in the beautiful, rural outskirts of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

These three days precede the Encuentro Milonguero Albuquerque for those who may be going, but is also open to those who are not. 

A new Encuentro format: A gathering of 30 students to study and practice Milonguero Style Tango for 3 days. If you love Milonguero Style tango and want to deepen and advance your skill level in a relaxed and focused time with like-minded dancers, this is for you!

Practicas on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings

Liz has been teaching Milonguero Style tango for over 20 years and is one of the original founders of the Encuentro network in North America. Her work comes from a lineage of Milonguero style dancers who have understood the dance as primarily an energetic, emotional, and sensorial experience. From years of this study, Liz's work focuses on the internal play of energy within a grounded, deep comfortable embrace. The giving and receiving of energy is understood as the vehicle for movement, and the medium used for connection, communication, and musical expression. The intention of this intense study time will be to explore and develop this medium, one that is deeply personal, natural, and unique to each of us. $225/person.
